WHY IS PRAYER SO IMPORTANT ? Collosians 4:2 Devotes yourselves to prayer, being watchful and Thankful Reflection: Prayer means submission,an honest prayer mens putting your guard down and let God control the situation. It all has to do with listening to God as He draws us deeper into Himself and into the mystical Body. Allowing the Holy Spirit it to guide us in our devotions and to help us fall into God embrance. Prayer is simplicity it self. What is difficult is letting go to our selves and our own wills enough to let God decide what and when. We have to let go of pride and realize that we cant manipulatie Him. Through prayer, God is sanctifying us, is calling us together trials, conforming us to Himself, calling to the Cross. ...all so that we might spend eternity with Him. Jesus had spent hours teaching, listening, touching, healing. He had not any lunch break, no time to share the concerns of his own heart, no relaxing moment in a quiet peace. It was just people and their needs. ..What was different for him, however was that he was not afraid to step away from stress into solitude. And when he had sent the multitudes, he went up into a mountain apart to pray and when the evening was come he has alone. ( Matthew 14 : 23 ) Such solitude is not escape from something, but entry into someone. We send the the world away in order to create a space where we can pray to the God who waits for us in the sheer silence of our own solitude. Oh God, let me flee into you when all around me threatens to capture my time, my heart, my soul. Amen GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
