WHY LUKA CHEMASTAN IS A MICROCOSM OF WHAT IS IDEALLY WRONG WITH OUR EDUCATION Day in day out, we have been treated to melodramatic ranting from our able political scientist, Luka Chemastan from Marakwet East. I have lamented time and again on his wall that I have always had difficulty to follow his line of argument. His political rhetoric is devoid of a head, body or tail. Yet Chemastan is not an ordinary folk; he is supposedly a Political Science graduate of one of our many mushrooming Universities! Chemastan has the moral obligation to hold the discipline of Political Science in high esteem. He should inspire the young generation to love political science. He has the holy duty to explain to the ordinary folk that political science is the study of the state, nation, government and politics and policies of government. I assure Chemastan that if earlier Political Scientists like Aristotle, Niccolo, Machiavelli, Cicero and Plato were to wake up today, they would be thoroughly ashamed to be told that he(Chemastan) is a student of Political Science. I am praying that my brother Chemastan will concern himself with political theory, comparative politics, International relations amongst other disciplines of political science. His current endless wars with village headmen, MCAs, chiefs and little known CDF chairman will earn him canes from Cicero, blows from Aristotle and hot slaps from Plato.
