WHY MAMA NGINA KENYATTA & HER FAMILY ARE SILENTLY BEHIND KIARIE KAMERE ON 7/8/2014 “Uhuru Kenyatta & his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta kidnapped Hon Moses Muihia Nganga in 1997” Claimed a one Moses Kuria, words that cost Uhuru the Gatundu seat and the Vice Presidency. Kenyatta’s failure to capture the Gatundu seat tormented him so much that he had at that time decided to quit politics. For two years, little was heard of Kenyatta until President Moi, ever hopeful to play ball with a Kenyatta, appointed him in 1999 as the Chairman of Kenya Tourism Board. The events of November & December 1997 affected the Kenyatta family especially his mother to an extent of breaking down in tears. Most of us who are conversant with the politics of the larger Kiambu will remember a time in 1997 when people woke up to the news that the former Gatundu MP, Hon Moses Muihia, had disappeared just days before he presented his Nomination Papers to the then ECK. Muihia who was vying on an opposition ticket was running against KANU’s youthful Kenyatta. Uhuru’s popularity was massive and he had received a nod from the Kikuyu Council of elders. Sensing a possible defeat in what was predominantly an opposition ring, some insiders decided to persuade Moses Muihia to abandon his bid and instead ‘sell’ his candidacy to Kenyatta by pulling out, Moses was already sensing a defeat since Uhuru enjoyed massive support despite running on a Kanu Ticket. The power brokers involved then approached Kenyatta who indicated he had no problem Muihia stepping down on a mutual consent. The deal was arrived at and Moses promised not to return his nomination papers and thus went underground. That’s the time the over spoken Moses Kuria went berserk claiming that the Kenyatta family had kidnapped Hon Muihia. Particular to mention, MK claimed that Mama Ngina Kenyatta had taught his son-Uhuru, his father’s ‘UKORA’. Kuria had tried to access the Kenyattas’ inner circle without success and decided to support Muihia instead. Within hours of that gravious propaganda, Uhuru’s popularity nose dived! To add salt to the injury Kuria claimed that Uhuru Kenyatta was not circumcised according to the Kikuyu traditions, this devastated Uhuru as the propaganda fueled by MK sold like hot cake. The people of Gatundu having worked with Muihia before had admired his astuteness and he was equally adored. Sensing that his plot would be known, Hon Muihia came out of hiding and presented the papers but did not campaign henceforth. Moses Kuria had already caused collateral damage to Kenyatta. Uhuru Kenyatta endured the frustration of hearing Moses Kuria continue mentioning his mother in public rallies and on campaign vehicles as having the intention to kill Hon Muihia throughout the campaign period. Eventually, Muihia got 22,000 votes against Uhuru’s 10,000. It’s a known secret that Mama Ngina Kenyatta yields a sumptuous influence on the President. Its no surprise the first family have not publicly and will not publicly endorse the candidature of Moses Kuria. Kurias overzealous support of the president on the national platform is not informed by anything else. He took the path of self destruction 17yrs ago and has been unsuccessfully trying to correct the wrongs of 1997. Kuria with his academic papers was a sure bet of prime government appointment which has not been forthcoming. His barking is liken-able to a frustrated person seeking attention in futility. Moses is a broken person and has no dream or vision for the people of Gatundu. Those who know Mama Ngina Kenyatta describe her as a polite, loving, caring woman, who has kept his family together all that time. This is the woman Moses Kuria called a kidnapper and killer some 17years ago. Uhuru as well could have forgiven Moses Kuria, but will most certainly never forget. Of the entire Kenyatta family, only Uhuru’s first cousin Kiambu Women Rep Hon Ann Gathecha has come out openly in support of Moses Kuria. Am sure after reading this she too will drop Kuria like a hot metal. In the corridors of power, Moses Kuria is not favored either contrary to the believe of many of us. He is always treated with suspicion and handled with care. That’s why two years after Uhuru won the presidency; Moses Kuria has never been given a state job unlike all his colleagues who have landed prime appointments and others nominated to Senate & Parliament. This may pass to many of you as a narrative to paint him black, but I dare Kuria to respond to this. His fundraiser at Windsor can clearly tell any sober voter that his candidacy is sponsored by his fellow TNA Operatives and Political Brokers who knows very well this is his only chance to land a job. That’s why they even had the audacity to rig out Joyce Ngugi. Mama Ngina Kenyatta and her family are strongly behind Kiarie Kamere. Tomorrow, we change focus to Moses Kuria’s stay in Dubai.
