WHY MR. PRESIDENT MUST SEAT UP The circumstance that paved way for Mr. President to become the President of this country is fresh in our memory. We are not quick forget that during the declaration of his intention to contest for the office of Mr. President, he told Nigerians that he had no shoes in his pre- school days, today by the grace of god, he don’t only have shoes but sell shoes. The President Promised Nigerians security, constant power supply and other social amenities. We are not in a hurry to forget the seven point agenda of late president Umaru Musa Yar’adua which the president partially inherited. Today Nigerians will agree with me that corruption is on the increase, Governors and other government officials who are tagged loyalists are free to loot our economy. The President has no control of the governors any more, one will wonder if the governor of a state is greater than the President of that country. The worst of it all is that these governors are of the same party – PDP. No wonder the opposition party called this administration a kindergarten government. I have even forgotten the names of our EFCC and ICPC bosses; this is because they are ceremonial agencies. They have formed an alien with the corrupt leaders. Nigeria is the only country in African sub region where soldiers detect where they should be posted against the order of the commander in chief of the military. Nigeria has become a country where some individuals are honored and respected than the country itself. Some leaders make treasonable statements and get away with it. Students in our tertiary institutions are at home when they are supposed to be in school. The administration that promised N800b for infrastructural development in our tertiary institutions should at least release half of the money to show how committed it is to alleviate the suffering of the poor masses. I want to use this medium to plead with ASSU to think twice in their decisions. The President should know that the time to act is now. No weak government has ever succeeded. The strength of every government is the quick actions and decisions of the president of that country at appropriate time. This high romance with some of the disobedient governors will weaken his administration; it is time to know who is for PDP and those against it. PDP special convention has come and gone, the anti PDP members should be fished out in all the states. GOD BLESS NIGERIA
