WHY YOU DONT MOUNT NEW TIRES ON FRONT OF VEHICLE! Woman Sues Wal-Mart After Tire-Related Incident A mother, after purchasing tires at a Wal-Mart in Southeast Texas, is suing the retail corporation for injuries to herself and her two children following a tire-related collision. The womans lawsuit was filed April 3 against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., citing negligence and gross negligence. According to the lawsuit, the mother allowed another woman to take her 2004 Chevrolet Suburban to the Wal-Mart Tire & Lube Express in Mineola, Texas, on April 5, 2013, to put new tires on the vehicle. At the Wal-Mart, the mother’s friend could not afford four tires, so the service technicians put two new tires on the front, leaving the old tires on the back, the complaint states. About a month later, the vehicle was being operated in light rain when the rear tires lost traction and the vehicle hydroplaned, causing the vehicle to crash. The mother’s two-year-old child sustained an injury to his spinal cord and is partially paralyzed from the incident; the mother and her other child were also injured, according to the complaint. The complaint states service technicians didn’t follow standards when they placed the tires on the front instead of placing new tires on the back and moving the old tires to the front. The mother is seeking damages in excess of $75,000.
