WHY ZAMBIA IS POOR. VERSION 2015/JANUARY 1. Having Tribes + Tribalism Instead Of Thinking In Terms Of Brothers And Sisters, Zambians Tend To Think In Terms Of Tribe. The Result Is That If You Are A Manager At Work And You Are Bemba, You Only Accept Bemba People. If You Are A Vice Chancellor And You Are Lozi, You Only Accept Lozi People. The Result Is That You Be Creating Barriers For People Who Could Offer Progressive Solutions. Zambians Must Get Rid Of Tribes, And Stop Saying Am Tonga, Am Lala, Am Bemba. 2. Thinking Government Will Bring Development And Bring Food Thats Not The Responsibility Of Governments. Governments Are Regulatory Authorities Not Charity Organizations. While They Can Offer A Little Help To The People, Their Main Job Is Manage The Countrys Resources, A Government Is Not A Family. A Country Must Have A Hardworking Government And Hardworking Citizens. If A Country Has A Hardworking Government Yet Most Of The Citizens Are Super Lazy, Or The Opposite, Such A Country Will Remain Poor. 3. Laughing At People With Progressive Ideas Just A Few Years Ago, A Zambian Wanted To Develop A Mobile Phone Concept. His Friends, Family And Other Close People Laughed At Him. They Said Filya, Fyabasungu, Ifwe Kufwayafye Inchito, Get Married And Just Eat. Zambians Have A Reputation Of Laughing At People Who Think Progressively. Mind You, Japan Was More Bankrupt Than Zambia In The 1960s, But Now Has The Worlds Third Powerful Economy. WHY? Because People There Support Each Other, Not Here In Our Beloved Zambia, Where We View Each Others As Competitors Than Companions. 4. Poor Educational System CBU Is Known As A University That Has Being Known To Have The Most Difficult Exams In The Country, Than Being Known For Producing The Best Graduates. Here At CBU (Even UNZA) A Genius Is Defined As Someone Who Can Remember 10 Handouts And Write Exactly Whats Written In The Handout On An Examination Answer Sheet And Get A+ And As. They Say We Have 50% Passmark, Yes Off Course, But Are The Graduates Creating Significant Projects? Students Who Graduate From UNZA/CBU End Up Having Improved Memories Than Improved Work Output. Thanks To Leakage, Anyone Can Get Six Points. 5. Family Dependency System And Beggar Mentality In A Family, If The First Born Graduates From University, The Father Stops Work, So Does The Mother, The Younger Siblings Also Dump School, All Saying, This Graduate Will Start Feeding Us. When Paying Lobola, Some Fathers Even Put Conditions That The Man Must Finance The Wifes Family. Is It The Responsibility Of The Son In-Law To Support His Wifes Family? Begging. Most Zambians Just Know How To Beg, They Dont Want To Work Hard. 6. Government Dependence On Donors It Is Shocking That Most Of The Countries Zambia Gets Donor Aid From Where Countries Whose Economies Were In Shambles By The End Of World War 2, Those Countries Were Literally Broke. Zambia Was Better Than Most Of Them. Some People In Singapore Were Even Laughing At Zambia Saying Zambia Was Way Better Than Us In The 1960s. Zambian Governments Would Rather Borrow Than Generate Money. And That Aid, Comes With Conditions.....pa last kulechulafye
