WIC NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING WEEK IN AMERICAN SAMOA On July 26, 2013, Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga issued a Proclamation to declare the week of August 1-7, 2013 as "WIC NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING WEEK" in American Samoa. In his proclamation, Governor Lolo declared, ". . . to express the appreciation to all breastfeeding mothers, to thank them and all of their supporters for their efforts, and to encourage future mothers to breastfeed, I, LOLO M. MOLIGA, Governor of American Samoa, do hereby proclaim the week of August 1-7, 2013, as "WIC NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING WEEK" and call upon public and private public health professionals to celebrate with appropriate ceremonies and activities that acknowledge efforts of breastfeeding mothers, fathers, their families and the health and medical professionals, peer counselors and others who provide support, encouragement and help so mothers succeed with breastfeeding". Please help us to observe the WIC National Breastfeeding Week in American Samoa by celebrating breastfeeding mothers and encouraging future mothers to breastfeed.
