WICKED OBI Obi is the only son of a widow. This widow tried her best to give him the best education and love he can ever wish for, but for every of her effort Obi pays her back with wickedness and disdain. He will always follow bad friends and when he is arrested, his mum will come and bail him out, and seeing that his mum can’t see him suffer, he took advantage of it. Every day Obi is either arrested for violence, rape, theft or an accomplice in a heinous crime which keeps his mother in a sorrowful mood day in day out. The mum gives him all that he wanted thinking that if he has all that he wants that he won’t get involved in crime but to no avail until… The day mum died of high blood pressure, Obi has killed her mum by his wayward behaviour and there won’t be anyone to bail him out from cell if he is caught again, give him all he wanted, pet him even when he is wrong, cry for him, cook for him, defend him in the public, pray and wish him well and stay awake all night until he is back. Obi cared less when it was announced to him that his mum is dead, he never knew what the loss of his mum will mean to him until he spent all the money that he has and he was arrested for involving himself in theft. It was while he was in the cell and no one came to bail him out that he remembered how much he has taken his mother’s love for granted and wished he could turn back the hand of time and treat his mum differently. You may be seeing the wickedness of Obi without seeing yours, you may not see how much you’ve neglected to yield to the love of God, how much you’ve disobeyed and taken God for granted…a day is coming when the love of God will be taken away from you, His word withdrawn and His grace estranged- at that time it will be too late to make up Am 8:11 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. A day is coming when there will be famine of God’s love, word and grace, in that day people shall seek and desire for a second chance and they won’t have it. They will want to love and obey God but they won’t have the opportunity. Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness. Hebrews 3:7-8 Today is what we have, not tomorrow, why not un-harden your heart against the word of God, and give yourself totally to Christ. God bless you.
