WILL YOU MAKE YOUR SUPPORT KNOWN? When I asked Andrew Nikolic (as our local member), I was given the same answer, that marriage equality isnt important to his constituents (even though I AM one of those constituents). It seems Sharman Stone is the same in the electorate of Murray. In the seat of Lyons, I was given the impression that Eric Hutchinson MP was under the same impression (again only hearing from people opposing equality). A small number of religious groups make a lot of noise in organised lobbying to ensure that politicians never forget their position that marriage is between a man and a woman. Despite all of the polls saying this is incorrect (and even the Australian Christian Lobby getting only 100,000 signatures to oppose it from a pool of 12.7 million Australian Christians), the politicians still feel that the public don support this. If you get the chance, when you see a politician, theres nothing wrong with nicely saying ...and by the way, I support marriage equality.
