WINNERS IN POLITICS=AFFLUENCE AND HELL. I grew up even in the slums to appreciate the reputation of Bishop Oyedepo and his Winners ministry. Just lately, the ministry came under intense public criticism for its special flare for immeasurable afluence. The ministrys wealth no doubt was believed to be devinely inclined since even the congregation boast of devine wealth hence the nick winners. The ministrys riches ranges from the procurement of private jets, building of five star schools and reservation centres among other magnificient edifices of high pedigree. The question is, where do they get the billions to be spending the way they do? In the past, the society has been made to believe that their primal source of income comes from members tites and donations as well as business ventures it has had. Even at that, many questions were left unanswered. Why will a church build a school that an average member (chief financer) of the church cannot afford to enrol his or her ward in? Does a church supposed to be so competive in business rather than missionary works as well as social responsibility ventures? If yes, what is the impact of the church activities to the ordinary Nigerian? These and many more of these posers have been begging for attention from the public parlance. I was reluctant to add a voice to some bizzarre headlines in the News concerning a purported declaration by Bishop Oyedepo becouse I know how obsessed Nigerians go about religion. In spite of the above, I know its hard for a snail to part ways with its shell and still be a snail so I decided to speak. In the report I read, he is alledged to have declared war on insurgents by saying his members should shoot anybody that resembles an insurgent. He also said he will open up the gates of hell for those who will not vote for GEJ. These assertions to me are reckless, unreasonable and demeaning to the personality of Bishop Oyedepo and his Living Faith church as a whole if truly he had said them. As an aclaimed man of God, he is believed to have been an icon of truth as well as a vehicle of moral and social reconstruction and not to directly get involved in the murky waters of politics. Matters arising from the declaration: one can now believe that Bishop Oyedepo.... *is a sole custodian of the keys to hell or serves as a senior gate man in hell. *is leading his members including GEJ to hell as evident in his hate declaration. *receives his Billions from political figures to work for them in return. *is a wolf in the sheeps skin. *has unwittingly exposed himself as a current title holder of Judas of our time representing lucifarian caliphate. Fellow Nigerians, I may be wrong, what do you think? Put religious sentiments apart please. God bless Nigerian as we anticipate a great turnaround.
