WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL 2 Cor 2:14 And thanks be to God who ALWAYS causes us to triumph… June 18, 2014 EMBEDDED IN INSTRUCTIONS (IV) Prov 4:20, 22 “My son, give attention to my words… For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” Instructions are your life. (Prov 4:13) When God wants to reveal Himself to you, He gives you an instruction. God’s blessings are embedded in instructions; God’s direction is the same as His instruction. In fact, the length of your days can be connected to instruction. You can therefore prolong your stay on Earth by following godly instructions. Prov 3:1-2 explains this: “My son, forget not my law or teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; 2 For length of days and years of a life [worth living] and tranquility [inward and outward and continuing through old age till death], these shall they add to you.” Obedience to instructions is the ultimate price for a balanced life. (Proverbs 4:1 AMP, Prov 4:13 NKJV) If you want to be the Psalm 1 Christian- flourishing in and out of season (Psalm 1:3)- your delight has to be in the instructions of the Lord. (Psalm 1:2 AMP) HOW TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS 1. Be humble: Proverbs 6:7 2. Be a giver: Every time you give, you conquer greed. A lifestyle of giving makes you grow in your reception of God’s Word. 3. Study the Word: The Bible is your Manual for daily living. It contains God’s instructions. 4. Kill every excuse: If you find yourself giving excuses all the time, you will limit the move of God in your life. God brings instruction for your profit. You cannot afford to be a Christian that does not obey God. “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” (Rom 8:14) Instructions are your life. CONFESSION: I enjoy practicing the Word. The promises in the Bible become praise reports in my life. My health is renewed. I am very wealthy. PRAYER: Father, I declare that I love you.
