WINSTED – ELLIS – Virginia Isabelle Ellis, 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond H. Ellis. Born November 8, 1929 in Winsted, CT; the daughter of the late Charles and Belle (Decker) Nash. Virginia worked at Waring Products, New England Manufacturing and Rexam Industries. She enjoyed birds and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved going out to breakfast with Carol Franz and having coffee with Joan Ives. She also looked forward to her coffee and tea date with her daughter, Ginny weekly. She was a loving mother to eight daughters, six of whom are still surviving and will miss her dearly, Virginia Baxter (Robert) of Winsted, Sally Lewis (Ted) of Winsted, Annette Whitbeck (Walter) of Burrville, Joanne Lamer (Andre) of Avon, Donna Ellis of Winsted and Terry Fredsall (Frank) of Colebrook; grandchildren, Lori Daniels, Larry Munzner, Raymond Simonik, Melissa Hubbard, William Simonik, Krista Lewis, Michael Whitbeck, Andre Lamer, Nicholas Lamer, Jenna Brochu and Bethany Brochu; a very special friend, James Lovallo; great grandchildren, Rachel, Nicholas and James Daniels, Samantha Hubbard, Kayla August, Milo Ellison and Issac Whitbeck; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She also leaves 3 Boston terriers she cherished with all her heart, Sandy, Ginger and Katie and 3 great grand dogs, Buddy, Rex and Jax. She was predeceased by two daughters, Eleanor Simonik and Debbie Rae Carney; a brother, Charles Nash; a sister, Eleanor Mori; and a granddaughter, Jessica Whitbeck. Friends may call on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 10 AM – 12 PM with a funeral service at noon.
