WINTER STORM WARNIN NORTH OF THE KANKAKEE RIVER TO WISCONSIN - TopicsExpress

WINTER STORM WARNIN NORTH OF THE KANKAKEE RIVER TO WISCONSIN BORDER WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR AREAS SOUTH OF THE RIVER Focus will be on this ongoing system. Next week is still on track too. I will update that storm later today. Now this is just my guess but I believe the heaviest snow will fall between the Kankakee river and I88. These areas look to see 4 to 8 inches with most areas probably falling in the 6 to 7 inch range. Wanted some wiggle room. So went with 4 to 8. Areas south of I 80 to the Kankakee river may see a brief change over to freezing rain and sleet which may cut down on totals a bit but these areas even with the freezing rain are a cinch to hit 4. If it stays all snow between the river and i80 these areas will see the high end totals of 8. Just impossible to know how far north the ice will creep. Right now it is in central jasper and newton counties and it is fairly stationary at this moment. For areas north of I88 expect to see 3 to 6 inches with some isolated 7 amounts under any areas that may undergo some heavier banding north of I88. Things should wind down later today then focus will turn to the system Tuesday Wednesday and dare I say another significant system the following weekend. Stay tuned
