WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the western district will go into effect at 9PM and will run until Midnight Saturday night (purple shaded counties). The next incoming weather system will not be an impressive winter-type storm, but has the potential to create hazardous travel conditions. Mostly snow is forecast over the far NW part of the KC area, with accumulations of 2 widespread and isolated 3 amounts. In a majority of the KC area..freezing rain will develop late tonight with light glazing of 0.01 to 0.05..mainly on untreated roads..bridges.. overpasses..sidewalks..trees..power lines and other exposed surfaces. Temperatures will rise to above freezing by 7AM ending the ice threat. Mostly drizzle is expected Saturday during the day, with colder temperatures and a burst of moderate snow Saturday evening. Accumulations will range from a widespread 1 to isolated 2 total Timing looks best for this between 5PM and midnight. For the eastern district..no winter precipitation issues are expected. Temperatures are now above freezing and will remain above freezing. Moderate rains of 1/2 to 1 are expected in the NW part of the STL area with locally heavy rains of 1+ and isolated 2 totals for SE STL into SEMO/SW IL. Sunday..much colder and windy with temps 7 to 15 by Monday morning. KC area residents..monitor local media for updates over the weekend as the storm track could still slightly shift.
