WIP below. Note that these pics were taken with my iPhone, not the HD quality I use for finished product on this page. When I got my new color pen-brushes the first day of sabbatical, I drew a concentric image using one pen for each shape. It was a great way to check out all the colors. I liked the pattern of gray in the outer border, so ... I decided to explore that further with another concentric image. I incorporated some fold-overs and shadows to heighten the gray-to-black effect. Its interesting, but not quite a finished piece. For the next step, Im going to complicate it with some pattern overlay, probably in blue. Ill share that when Im done; well see how it looks!
