WISDOM FOR THE GOSSIPER R.G. Le Toureau was an inventor of different kinds of heavy earthmoving equipment. He said that his company used to make a scraper that was known as Model G. When a customer asked a salesman what the G stood for, the salesman, quickly rose on his feet and answered, “The G stands for gossip because like a talebearer, this machine moves a lot of dirt and moves it fast!” Yes, gossipers and tale bearers moves a lot of dirt and moves it fast and they are one of the fastest destroyers of any community of togetherness – be it church, family, friends, or whatever. Proverbs 26:20 says, “Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; and where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.” The word translated “talebearer” in the NKJV actually means gossiper. From this verse, there are two evils of the gossiper. One he or she is like a wood that sparks up fire. The wood is always beneath. The fire is always above. Remove the wood and see the fire go out. Gossipers are subtle underneath actors that make wildfire to rage on top. They have the mouth, they have the leg and their consciences are already faulty. All you just know is that a matter that ought to have died a natural death or just pass by without creating any issues has been fanned up by this heartless and jobless people. THIS SHOULD NOT DESCRIBE YOU! The second evil of the gossiper and the end result of their activity is nothing but strife and quarrels. They enjoy it and very interestingly, they disappear from the scene as soon as they have caused the havoc they want to cause. Proverbs 20:19 says. “He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.” Get the wisdom here: Being a gossips will take you NOWHERE in life. Your life has more meaning and a better mission than that. The Bible says, you don’t even deserve a company if you are a gossiper. You ought to be treated like an outcast! If you have been gossiping, it is time you stop it and church, we must NO LONGER allow gossipers to scatter us. The more I am quoted, the more I am believed My victims are helpless; they cannot protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face. To track me down is impossible. The harder you try, the more elusive I become. I am nobody’s friend. Once I tarnish reputation, it is never the same. I topple governments and wreck marriages, I ruin careers and cause sleepless nights, heartaches and indigestion. I make innocent people cry in their pillows. Even my name hisses. I am called gossip. I make headlines and headaches. Before you repeat a story, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it harmless? Is it necessary? If it is not, dont repeat it. -Anonymous
