WITH POLICE BRUTALITY ON MY MIND While I have turned away from seeking a Messianic leader, I often ask myself who speaks for me and who fights my battles? Why because once the head is killed the body dies...Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X are the prime examples that need only few more to remind those who like me have tired to turn their ethnic eyes away from seeking leaders at all. But in times of great need after times of great divide it becomes obvious that there is a we and we have been overrun with reminders that there is no promise land. We are not marching toward a utopia we are instead settling for less and being slaughtered. There comes a time when we have to reevaluate and remember that even if we are a part of a greater whole. some parts of that whole does not share our dreams of equality. The sad conditions of mankind have demonstrated to us that no one is given, rights and respect have to be earned, Again is is sad but true that earning means confrontation. Where and when we have to decide but to continue to lie down in the face of blunt ridicule is ridiculous. It is time we began to reexamine what unity means. I am lost and looking for my brothers.
