One ancient writer put it this way, “God is never so far as even to be near.” So close by is inadequate to describe the presence of God in the life of a follower of Christ. I love experiencing the presence of God in my life I am aware of His power, but He is much more than an influence. It is obvious to me that God the Holy Spirit leads me into the truth, gives wisdom when I ask and simply always keep me company. Seniors who lose the physical presence of a spouse close friend or even a child may take comfort knowing that God understands and is always closer than near. Wherever you go today God doesn’t stay behind He comes along.
