WOMEN AND MAKE-UP IN ISLAM PART 1. All Thanks is due to ALLAH for giving me the opportunity to write this piece of message to my fellow sisters in Islam, which will serve as a warning to our Muslim women on things they applied on their bodies all in the name of make-up. I want our Muslim women to understand and be quite on issue relating to using wigs, attachment, shaving, of faces hair, tattooing and creating artificial spaces between their teeth and the like. Narrated Alqamah, Abdullah ibn Masud said Allah cursed those ladies who practice tattering and those who get themselves tattered and those ladies who get their hair removed from faces except beard and moustache and those who make artificial spaces between their teeth in order to look more beautifull whereby they change Allahs creation. This message reached a lady from Banu Asad, called ummu Yaqub, who came (to Abdullah) and said: I have come to know that you have cursed such and such (ladies)? He replied How should I not curse those whom Allahs Messenger (PBUH) has cursed and who are (cursed) in Allahs book. Ummu Yaqub said, I have read the whole Quran but I did not find what you said he said, Verily, if you have read it (Quran) you would have found it. Didnt you read Allahs statement AND WHATSOEVER THE MESSENGER GIVES YOU TAKE IT AND WHATEVER HE FORBIDS YOU SHOULD ABSTAIN FROM IT (Q5:7). Although, from these evidences we all agree that this acts are not something to carry home about, we all purpose to know them, but because of ignorance a lot of women still practice such acts which are prohibited by Allah.
