WOMEN URGED TO SIGN UP TO RACE FOR LIFE ACROSS SOUTH YORKSHIRE Women across South Yorkshire are being urged to get in the pink and sign up to Race for Life and raise funds for charity. Registration is now open for a series of Race for Life events across the region. National charity Cancer Research UK has been holding the women-only events since 1994. So far, about six milliojn women have taken part, raising nearly £500 million for the charity. A Cancer Research UK spokesman said: “Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research, so we will beat all 200 types of cancer sooner. “Show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink by taking part in one of our 5km events around the country. “Five kilometres is an achievable distance for all abilities, so unite in the fight against cancer with us this year by signing up now.” To sign up, or for more details, visit raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org
