#WOMENSHISTORYMONTH It is the end of the month and I decided to save the best for last. I wanted to share woman that I know well. Women in the NOW that have a day to day influence on me. A woman that with out her i would not be here.... and its her birthday today! So today I honor Theresa Gambo Barrasse... otherwise known as my MOM! Happy Birthday MOM. She is full of flare. to quote David Corigliano. My mom is an artist. If it wasnt for her teaching me things like color theory and how to draw a human face in under a minute at a young age I dont think I would be the same person. She has had ups and downs like many of us but always managing to be so strong. I can say so much about what she has done and the many accomplishments in her life... Among her many things she has done over the years, she has taught art to children K-5. Many of her students, when finding out she is my mother, have told me that she changed their lives. That because of her they pursued Art. I was once at the post office picking up a package. The post woman said my name and the lady behind me said Are you any relation to Theresa Barrasse, Mrs. Barrasse, the art teacher? I said yes. She then went on to tell me how she was just doing an art project with her children that my mother taught her how to do in grade school school. That she went on to do professional portraits and how my mother was her favorite teacher EVER. It touched my heart. My mom has battled with many struggles and overcome so much. She keeps getting stronger EVERYDAY. ...And because of her I am a strong, independent woman who is following her dreams. She in fact named me Lindsay after Lindsay Wagner, #TheBionicWoman, because she wanted me to be strong. She claims she wanted me to be A BIONIC BABE. Now, I attach a camera to myself... so she got her wish. lol. THANKS MOM!!!!
