WONKY NEWS and THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT very sneaky indeed PREVIEW!!! Want the good news?!! Want the REALLY FLIPPING WELL FANTASTIC NEWS??!!!! Our FIRST WONKY PROJECT (oh, yes my dear lady, very shrewd to have noted that word ‘first’ ‘-) !!) is complete!! Costing just over £8,000 to get these scared, oldy, wibbly wobbly, 3 legged, one eyed, busted up, clapped out and most wonderful FIFTEEN lovers home, WE’VE DONE IT!!!! All the hard work of auctions, the hilarity and exhaustion of Saturday night raffles, the ‘weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’ all the way down of the Flying Woofer Women skydive, the kind hearts and generous compassion of everybody in here who has donated, sponsored and participated – can I repeat: WE’VE DONE IT!!!! Three cheers, collective group hug, pats on the back and a celebratory glass of bubbly stuff all round :-) Now, enough of that, have I not told you about the rather large task now in hand? Erm, what??!! You thought you could down tools, pack your bags and shift off home?!! WHAT???!!! Are you for real?!! Oh, dear lady, come closer while I whisper: “WE’VE GOT A PILE OF PUPS HERE THAT NEED SORTING!!!!” Oh, sorry, did that scare your eardrum into inexcusable vibrations? A word of advice: next time, just don’t bother leaving my side as one project closes, there’s ALWAYS another one for your delectation, delight and dollar, m’lud!! 3 days ago, our very own sister rescuer, Mia Petroschkehk, was forced to stop at the side of a busy road to help a mum begging there. She could see she was a very recent mum, in grave danger there, not only from dogcatchers, but also from getting hit by cars, as so many many of our babies do :-( She stopped to help and heard the squealing puppies nearby in the forest. It was raining hard, these puppies were no more than a few days old :-( Back home quick to build some makeshift shelters with blankets, cushions and food. Back to the forest to feed them until she could find a way to get them out. More squealing in the forest. Another mum. More squealing. Another mum. Cutting a long story very short, she’s got four gentle mums and a huge pile of puppies!!! So what to do? Do we say ‘oh, sorry, that’s your problem, we love you and everything, but you’ve gone too far this time’? You may find the exit at the back on the right if yes is your answer!!! NO!!!! We’re here, you’re our sister, these puppies may as well be in OUR back gardens squealing and reaching out tiny paws for our help. We’re rolling up our sleeves and we’re here for you and for them. We’re all in this together and we’re going to prove it!!! The babies are on their way to a shelter in the mountains TODAY and we’ll be setting up an event in the next week to set to work on bringing each and every one of these piddling pooping poppsters and their gentle mums home
