Only one month after the big Chicago victory, Cook County, IL just unanimously passed the ordinance to ban the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in pet stores, unless they come from shelters or rescue groups. This is the 2nd largest county in the U.S., after Los Angeles, with 5.25 million residents, so this a very big win in the fight against pet mills. A huge thank you to the county commissioners, The Puppy Mill Project, the animal welfare community and everyone who took action through our alert. Way to go!!
