WORD ALIVE … Bringing the relevance of God’s Word to our everyday life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU’RE CREATED FOR A PURPOSE (Vol 2; No 196) “The LORD has made everything for his own purposes.” - Proverbs 16:4 NLT You’re created for a purpose – divine purpose. It’s not about you. Your purpose of existence is not about you; it’s about God. God has a purpose for your life. You’re created to serve God’s purpose for your life. It is only when you serve the purpose for which you are created that you bring glory to God. You are created to love God and to live for Him in time and for eternity. The purpose of your existence revolves around God. The purpose of your creation and redemption is for you to love God with all your heart and serve Him with everything you have. When you don’t know and understand your purpose in life or who you are created to be, you will become vulnerable to manipulation. Until you discover this divine purpose for your life, embrace it and start living it out on a daily basis, you may end up living a purposeless and wasted life. God made the human being a most unique creature. He decided to create you – a person with freedom to accept or reject His love; to choose to love Him or not to love Him; to desire to reverence Him or to opt not to reverence Him; to decide to live for Him or not to live for him; to be willing to serve Him or not to serve Him; to prefer to trust and depend on Him or to live with your fears, anxieties and worries. We are designed to receive God’s love and to reciprocate it. There is no love that does not express itself in action. Therefore, your love for God should be expressed practically. When we don’t love God our lives become abnormal and dysfunctional because we are living contrary to the reason for which we are created to live. Consequently all aspects of our relationships are affected. We become fearful, resentful, insecure, hateful and selfish. To love is to live a wholesome life. It is a proven fact that most of the wounds of our emotions, our fears, worries, and anxieties, our defense mechanisms, our destructive ways, all have come about for lack of love. Love is essential for the total well being of a person. It is not optional. When you consider who God is and what He has done for you, you need to demonstrate in action your wholehearted love for Him. You ought to give your voice and your lips; give your hands and your feet; give your silver and your gold; give your very life as a token of your love for Him. If He could give up His only son for you, there is nothing too much to give in appreciation for His love. One song written by Frances Havergal clearly points out how our love for God could be demonstrated. It says: Take my life, and let it be Consecrated, Lord to thee: Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise Take my hands, and let them move At the impulse of thy love; Take my feet, and let them be Swift and beautiful for thee. Take my voice and let it sing Always, only, for my King; Take my lips, and let them be Filled with messages from thee. Take my silver and my gold; Not a mite would I withhold: Take my intellect, and use Every power as thou shalt choose. Take my love, my Lord, I pour At thy feet its treasure store; Take myself, and I will be Ever, only, all for thee.
