WORD ALIVE … Bringing the relevance of God’s Word to our everyday life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORDINARY PEOPLE EMPOWERED TO DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS (Vol 2; No 195) People that do KNOW their God ... – knowledge plays a very import role in being what God has purposed that you will be. It is only when you know what God says you are and what He has made available to you that you will begin to talk of receiving them and becoming all that God wants you to be. Lack of this adequate knowledge may keep one in perpetual spiritual penury. It is significant to note that two words are translated poor. One refers to a labourer, who is poor by reason of his circumstances, the other to a beggar who is poor by choice. None of these should be your portion if you know who you are in God and what He has in stock for you and take concrete step to appropriate them to yourself. Knowledge leads to recovery. Knowledge is strength! Knowledge is power! “People that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits! (Daniel 11:32KJV). The above quoted verse is one of the verses in the Bible God has used to minister to me specifically. My desire has been to live out that verse in my life. I have made up my mind to know God and be an instrument in His hand to be used to accomplish great things. My dream right from the time God started to open my eyes to startling promises in His word has been to attempt great things and attain great heights for God. Though all my dreams and aspirations in life have not been realized, I am not discouraged. I am still holding God on his word. Whatever He has said concerning me must surely come to pass, sooner or later. I have discovered from the Bible that people who knew God intimately on a personal level were people who did exploits for Him. What baffles me is that the men He used were not super human beings. They were people of like passion as us (Acts 14:15). More often than not, we may have noted that there was nothing so spectacular about them to write home about. What then was the secret of their strength? They knew their God! They were ordinary people that knew an extraordinary God. The result – they were empowered to do extraordinary things! God met them, melt them, moulded them and fashioned them to what He wants them to be. God can use you no matter how useless you may think you are. His strength is made perfect in weakness. He is not looking for ready-made people who are fit. Most of the time, he decides to use a nobody and makes somebody out of him. He uses the weak and neglected things of the world to confound the wise and the strong. He that calls you to Himself knows that you worth something. He can use you when you make yourself available to Him. It is said that the greatest ability is availability. Are you willing to make yourself available to God? There is no limit to what He will accomplish through you when you give yourself wholly unto Him. As you come to Him with your weakness and the little strength you have, he will maximize them and turn your weakness into tremendous strength!
