WORD FOR TODAY:-JAMES 4:8 Draw near to God and he will near to you;cleanse your hands,you sinners and purify your heart, you double_minded. This scripture stated it clearly and drawing near or to draw near means to get closer,getting closer to God and getting closer to God is to know God. So comparing this command to DRAW NEAR with a scene of the people of Israel.Which is recorded in the book of EXODUS 19:5-9 / Ex 20:18-21 when moses just led the people of lsrael out of their slavery in egypt. This time moses was carrying an assignment to tell the lsraelites when he was on the mountain to tell the people that in Ex 19:5 - if only they will obey this voice and keep his commands,they shall be his treasured possesion among all people and VERSE (6)- they shall be to him a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. But God again told moses to tell the people in VERSE 9- that he is coming in a thick cloud,that the people may hear when he speak to moses and also believe moses forever that when the trumpet sounds and it get louder and louder. So Ex 20:18-21 says when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes lightening and sound of the trumpet and mountain smoking,the israellites where afraid and trembled and stood afar off and told moses to speak to God and not them otherwise they will die. Ex 20:20 - This was a test from the lord to keep them from sinning Why were they afraid and trembled? Because of their sins,of their ungoldly act. Sometimes we dont obey the voice of the lord and also keep his commands and also because of our sins/our ungodly act,we are afraid and tremble to draw near to God God call the israelites to come into relationship with him but when the time came for the people to draw near,they stood afar off. So to DRAW NEAR is to rich accomplished relationship with God HEBRWS 10:22 says let us draw near with true heart in full assuranceof faith having our heart sprinkled from evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Draw closer to God and he will also Draw closer to You. Dont just be like the israelites. I pray that,you will draw closer to God in jesus name. You are blessed beyond measures in jesus name!!!
