WORD OF THE DAY - FAMILY : What is family? Does the word family describe those who share the DNA with you? Some see it that way. I take a different view of family. To me family is defined by those who love you, those who need you, and those who are there for you in any situation, big to small. I have DNA family members that would betray me for money, and that take advantage for me. I also have DNA family members that would take a bullet for me. Guess which ones I call my family? But it doesnt end there. I have what most call friends that would rather have a car wreck or lose their home than see me with a broken heart. Those are my family as well, equal to those I am related to. What does it take to be family? To me, those who have helped me in times of need are instantly my family. It doesnt have to do with money. It has to do with a variety of things, such as words. When my heart is broke, those who tell me to call them and then they tell me that they love me and will do anything to make it better...now thats family! If you get a chance to be family for someone, to help them out in any way at all, from actions to words, do it. Family has nothing to do with blood. It has to do with love. I have a big family! There are a few who have become family to me recently, and they all know that I will be there for them in a heartbeat.
