WORD TODAY: We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of truth, the gospel. - Colossians 1:3-5 (ESV) The apostle Paul penned this prayer as he was writing to the Colossian Christians. As I was reading this passage earlier today, my eyes seemed to hover over the following phrase, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints. That phrase really does say a lot. It is only by ones faith in Christ that the love of Christ can flow through them and touch others. Until one knows the love of Christ, he cannot love others with the same love. 1 John 4:7 states, Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. (ESV) I am thankful for my brothers and sisters in Christ who love me with the unconditional and never-ending love of Christ each day.
