WORD Today 01/27/14 2Sm 5:1-7, 10 Mk 3:22-30 Jesus says, Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin. Blasphemy means treating God with disrespect. Jesus is referring to a lifetime of disrespect or rebellion against the guidance of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit, so when we obey Satan and sin, we are in rebellion against Him who is always inspiring toward holiness. If the unknown end of life finds us still blaspheming Him, then He will respect our choice to be with Satan forever. A house divided against itself will not be able to stand. Even before death, a life of civil war will ruin our house, family & livelihood. And harden our heart against a last-minute deathbed conversion. Let us talk always with the Holy Spirit. To those who do, My faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him. (Resp. Psalm)
