WORD Today 07/28/14 Jer 13:1-11 Mt 13:31-35 In the First Reading, God uses a parable that likens His people, the Jews, to disgusting dirty underwear because they cling to the loins of pagan foreigners for their salvation instead of Him. These foreigners ultimately destroyed them. Today we have made into law the contraceptive practices of foreign nations that will supposedly save our economic future. But silently that RH law (passed through bribery) is now working to undermine our trust in Gods ways of virtue and self-denial. This loosening of morals will increase vice, which needs to be financed with more corruption that is already destroying our nation. In the Gospel, Jesus invites us to be His parables. We are His tiny yeast inserted into the dough of hard-hearted society. May our virtues and our trust in Gods commands be a demonstration that spreads to our neighborhood and ultimately save our nation.
