WORD Today 09/27/14 Eccl 11:9--12:8 Lk 9:43-45 Jesus told his disciples (students), Pay attention to what I am telling you. Jesus was telling them that His amazing miracles were not the way He would save them but it would be by His death. Eventually they would have to follow Him to martyrdom. But they refused to understand. They only wanted to enjoy His miracles. In the 1st Reading, Qoheleth the teacher reminds young people not to forget God for some day they will have to face Him. In most colleges, final exams are approaching. Wise students are starting to prepare, but the wisest started preparing when classes began. Sadly some just relax & enjoy, perhaps relying on miracles. Final exams & death are unpleasant to think about but they are sure to come. Prof. Jesus is telling us to prepare for our end. So pay attention; open Gods Book daily and do the exercises. In Gods Finals, theres no way to cheat.
