WORKOUT TIP: One thing I learned from training in Thai Boxing is that its easy to get into a groove where you feel comfortable - training with the same partners for drills and always doing things the same way. Whenever someone new came along it was always hard because you werent familiar with their style and it sometimes felt awkward. The truth is that when youre feeling awkward and out of your comfort zone, thats when youre really developing. And its the same when working out. When Gloria first started her new upper body cardio routine with weights and ropes, it really took her out of her comfort zone. She started sleeping more and her upper body, especially shoulders, were sore in the mornings. She said that was good, because it meant it was working, and she was right. This pain and difficulty is a sign that your body is learning something new, and its being challenged in a new way, so its on a developmental spurt. In the gym, there are certain exercises that you gravitate towards because they feel comfortable to you. And others are a pain in the butt, you hate doing them, so you try to avoid them maybe. Dont make this mistake if you want to develop as fast as possible. Work on your weaknesses and on new things, not always on the things you can already do easily. Remember, the less you like it, the better it is for you! - Fabian.
