WORKPLACE EVANGELISM Your jobs put you in touch with people like no other activity. For 40 or more hours a week you toil, laugh, struggle and interact with others to accomplish tasks. But do you think it is right to view your workplace as a primary platform for spreading the gospel. Is that legitimate? It is certainly legitimate to treat your workplace as an opportunity for unbelievers to see Christianity by looking at you. YOU!!! Indeed, one of the Disciples challenges us to display a godly work style for that reason. However, you must never emphasize verbal witness to the detriment of your work, as if God sent you into the work world only to use it as a platform for evangelism. Your attitude, your lifestyle is the greatest evangelical tool that God employed to advance the Gospel. There is no point trying to verbally spread the Gospel when you do not exhibit the Fruits of the Spirit. When it is a case of ‘do as I preach and not as I do!!’ Employers rightly look down on workers who are intruders, deceivers, or sluggards. The Disciple Paul challenges you to work with “sincerity of heart” and to pay close attention to the work itself, which he calls “doing the will of God”. That is what impresses one’s employer, as well as God. Be the “Gospel” you want people to accept- also tracts, magazines, books are good for workplace evangelism! Pray: 1. Father, I worship You because You are the all sufficient God. 2. Father, wherever I work let me know not to exhibit the ways of the sluggard. 3. O Lord, let my speech and lifestyle spread the Gospel in my workplace. 4.
