WORLD FIRST EXCLUSIVE Shaun the wayward sheep from ‘South Rhodes’, Stonehenge Will be at the 2014 BBX Royal Hobart Show in the Animal Nursery. Shaun will be with his new girlfriend, Prue and her new twin lambs. Shaun’s fleece will be on display in the Fleece Room behind administration. Who is Shaun? • 2008 Shaun is born at the Bull’s property at Cranbrook on the East Coast of Tasmania. • 2009 Shaun escapes from his Cranbrook property on the East Coast with 20 of his mates during a terrible bush fire. Until recently all 20 had been assumed lost and, unfortunately dead. • 2014 Shaun is found at South Rhodes property at Stonehenge (near Oatlands) wandering amongst some cattle in a formally little used paddock. • It is approximately 100kms from Cranbrook to Stonehenge. • Shaun was carrying approx 16 inches of fleece weighing ??kgs. Possibly a world record (tbc). • Shaun was captured on a Sunday and shorn on Thursday. • He was very happy to lose his fleece, he frolicked around the paddock afterwards. • He has become quite the celebrity and very attached to Netty Hazell, his new owner. • He is now very attached to Prue, a hand-reared sheep from South Rhodes. • Prue currently has twin lambs. Is Shaun the father? Well he could be, he’s been on the run for 5 years! Name the twins competition? Will have pictures etc shortly. Shauns fleece should arrive Sunday 12th, Shaun and the family arrive on Tuesday 21st. We will have giveaways courtesy of Australian Wool Innovators, either at nursery or fleece sections (tbc).
