WORSHIP SONG for MONDAY - The Bible declares that boasting and self praise are wrong and not befitting a Follower of JESUS. We are not to brag on ourselves, exalt ourselves and make ourselves look good at the expense of others. In fact we are to lift up and edify others before our own selves and Jesus even tells us to do good to those that mis-use you. Living that way will cause us to shine as lights in this increasingly dark and sinful world, where most people almost need to lift themselves up and tell you how great, how smart and how important they are. And again I say that this type of self praise ought to be as far from the heart of the Christian as it can be. However we can and should BOAST and GLORY in something according to the BIBLE and that is the CROSS of the Lord JESUS CHRIST! The Apostle Paul put it this way when he wrote the New Testament Book of Galatians - As for me may I never BOAST about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.! Now that is something worth BOASTING about....the CROSS! I boast about it because it demonstrates Gods love for me! I boast about it because on the cross my salvation was paid for! I boast about it because it gives me a message of hope to share with a hopeless world! I boast about it because there is nothing I can do to add to the finished work that was accomplished on it. I brag on JESUS today as I have done for the last 40 years and I intend to exalt His Name for the rest of my life and into eternity. I know the world wont like it and they will say that it offends and I know to a degree it does. But without the cross we have no hope and with it we are more than conquerors through this One Who loved us so much! Im with Paul in that Im not going to brag on, exalt and glory in anything other than the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ! Praise God for the cross!
