WORST COMPANY EVER We approached Creare to design and build two - TopicsExpress

WORST COMPANY EVER We approached Creare to design and build two websites for us in May 2011. One was an E-Commerce site and the other was a CMS site. We were told it would be a 6 week build for both sites, the CMS site was finished in time and to a very high standard, Creare also took control of our PPC & SEO campaigns and this was, on the most part, successful. However, the E-Commerce site was not finished until April 2013, although it went live on 1st March 2012 but still with a lot of outstanding work. Everything started really well and we were hopeful of a long, successful business relationship; however things started to turn bad, very quickly. What we were told in the initial meeting is nothing like how it happened, we were promised functions on the site included in the agreed price, only to be told further down the line that we would have to pay for certain aspects of them. We were told it would be seamless, yet it must have taken a dozen attempts to get the data from our old site onto our new one. Our web designer openly admitted that he wasnt ready to build a site as large as ours, but his line manager told him to just get on with it. We had a meeting with one of the head Sales Directors on 2nd October 2012 to sort out what needed to be done. We left the meeting feeling optimistic, and with the promise that everything would then be sorted out within two weeks; he then subsequently ignored most correspondence, and we were passed onto someone else. The latest point of contact had worked very hard to rectify the problems, but we got the feeling that we weren’t a valued customer, and getting things done still took too long. Creare also took over the PPC & SEO for the E-Commerce site in March 2012. We ran the PPC campaign for 12 months, using the same budget as we had previously, however we noticed a 80% drop in sales. We have since moved this back to a previous supplier who has already got us back to where we were before Creare took over. The SEO campaign never really bared fruit, and by Creare’s own admission we were poorly advised to just use one key word, we later increased our monthly spend to include more keywords, and Creare were also doing other ones ‘for free’. After 12 months of SEO, we didn’t see the benefit in the slightest, so we also gave this to another supplier. I sent in a letter of complaint to our point of contact on the 22nd February 2013 and received an automated reply saying I would hear back within 4 days, as of the 4th April 2013, I had heard nothing back, despite chasing on a regular basis. I could go on for days about how poorly we have been treated, and how many times we have had to get things changed on our website because it wasn’t completed properly, or wasnt of a high standard. We have now taken positive steps and removed everything from Creare and all I would say is to avoid this company at all costs; this has been the most expensive mistake the company has made in 35 years of trading. I did try posting this review back in February 2013, but Creare told me I had to remove it, or they would stop all work on our websites, and remove them from the internet. It was also in the hands of there internal legal team before I removed it.
