WOULD THE REAL BEAU PLEASE STAND UP...or roll over…or play fetch! This is him, gorgeous, squishy Beau living out his time on death row. He is not a monster and contrary to the Mayor’s statements on television tonight, Beau is hardly one of the worst dogs ever to grace the kennels of Kapiti Pound. HUHA took this footage about a year ago (apologies for the questionable quality, we didnt want to advertise the fact we were filming). When we first met Beau, we were pleasantly surprised by how gentle and playful he was. But then we were told it was because we were woman and if we saw Beau around men it would be a different story. It was sadly and very obviously clear that council staff just wanted us to take their word for it and be put off by the reputation they had assigned Beau in the hopes we would give up and walk away. But we didn’t. Instead we thought we would test the councils man hating theory and asked our lovey burly volunteer Matt to be a guinea pig. So with video camera in tow, this is what unfolded…. If you are sick of the untruths and excuses and just want to see Beau safe and loved in a sensible experienced home, and if you are horrified at the waste of Tax payer dollars.
