WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING OTHER BREASTFEEDING WOMEN? We are hoping to run a Breastfeeding Peer Supporters Course in South Birmingham in the near future. This course will be free, and is aimed at women who have breastfed (or who are breastfeeding) and wish to support other women to have a positive breastfeeding experience. Having completed the course should raise your confidence if you wish to support friends, or apply to volunteer as a Breastfeeding Peer Supporter in the future. The course will be delivered by an experienced Infant Feeding Coordinator on a Saturday over six weeks (a total of eighteen hours). The course has a practical element, and the trainer will use DVD’s, group discussion, interactive activities, and exploration of personal experiences and ideas to assist learning. There will also be a practical skills assessment and certificate of completion at the end. Breastfeeding mothers with infants aged below 1 year are welcome to bring their baby along.
