WOULD YOU CALL THIS DIVINE ALIGNMENT? “ANTHONY HOPKINS, the British actor who shot to fame as Hannibal Lecter, was delighted to hear that he had landed A LEADING ROLE in a film based on the book, The Girl From Petrovka by GEORGE FEIFER. In London, Hopkins tried to buy a copy of the book. He searched SEVERAL BOOKSHOPS, with no success. Waiting for his train home, Anthony noticed a book that had apparently been left on a bench. INCREDIBLY, it was THE GIRL FROM PETROKA ... the very book he was looking for! That, in itself, would have been an AMAZING GODWINK, but it was just the beginning. Two years later, in the middle of filming in Vienna, Hopkins WAS VISITED by George Feifer, the author. Feifer mentioned that he didn’t have a copy of his own book. He had lent THE LAST ONE – containing his own annotations – to a friend who had left it at a London train station. With mounting astonishment, Hopkins pulled from a shelf the book he had found, handing it to Feifer. ‘Is this the one?’ he asked?
