WOULD YOU RATHER buy a product/service from A.) a hard-worker who listens to you or B.) a lazy person full of excuses? Here is a real life example of Person B. trying to earn my business yesterday: Yesterday a girl, apparently wanting more business, first asked if I was a starving musician (which I felt was a bit tacky), then followed up by asking if I needed a professional headshot. She handed me a card. I responded, I might be interested in a professional shot, can you email or text me a link to your online portfolio so I can preview your work? She immediately got defensive and started making up a series of excuses and justifications for not being able to show me any example of the product/service she was trying to sell, on her smart phone, internet, actual photo, or anywhere. She said that her partner has some old stuff he might be able to scrounge up. I told her I was not interested in old stuff, nor was I interested in paying for something that had no proof. I asked when she would be able to show me an example of any photos shes ever taken, and she continued with the excuses of why she didnt have any photos anywhere. Ridiculous! haha. This might seem like an absurd example! But so many people dont put in the hard work necessary to succeed and reap a bountiful harvest... yet they still expect to earn business. Just like a farmer can not procrastinate all year long and then sprint out the night before harvest day to get everything done overnight to reap a big harvest the next day. If you want to be successful, do what the successful people do, work hard and productively to prepare for the season of growth. There is no reason to have a business card if you dont have a business. There is no reason to sell something that doesnt exist or cant be proven. Everyone is an example of what to be, or what not to be! Today, I will go to work on the farm!
