WOW - We Did It! 988 Votes and over 4500 Views ahead of the true 2nd. place song in this Competition! When Joe Austin came up with the idea to have me write a song for Pilger, our goal was to 1. Raise some money to assist the Pilger Recovery Process. 2. Use music as a way to unite and keep the attention on the folks in Pilger that suffered unimaginable loses. 3. My own personal goal was to give of myself freely with no expectation of anything in return to see what would happen. I believe that wee accomplished the first two goals and we will hopefully add to that total with a Prize from this Songwriting Competition. As for goal #3, Ive learned that by giving freely with no expectation, you end up getting more than you could ever imagine. Ive witnessed hundreds of people also start giving freely with no expectation. It even had an effect across the Ocean. The 2nd. place song is now donating all his I tunes profits to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation. No matter what the final outcome of this competition ends up being, I feel that I have already won. Ive made hundreds of new friends and watched us come together to help other people that are in need. So I woke up Friday morning and realized that I needed to do something special for you all for your amazing support over the last 10 weeks. The most natural way for me to thank you all was for me to write you a new song. I wrote this one Friday and I spent the weekend recording it for you all. A Special THANK YOU to Joel Austin for coming up with a great idea. I also want to thank Jalayne for all her help as well as Angie from US 92, Dr. Rock for all the air play. Northeast Nebraska has always been a source of inspiration in my songwriting and this new song is no different. I always like to dedicate my songs to the people that inspire the song to be written.
