*WOW!!!! Fulton Health Dept & City of Atl showed up this evening, as they are all over the city. We certainly understand the need to regulate, as it ensures std procedures are being met. But we wonder if the manner in which these inspections are conducted will actually kill a movement that has put Atl on the map for mobile eateries. One wonders why we dont adopt the best practices of TX or the West Coast where food trucks have thrived for over a decade. Will food trucks stay in Atl with all the red tape and fluctuation in requirements? What if they didnt but moved on or closed shop. Dreams shattered, families affected, loss of business for mechanics and restaurant suppliers, commensaries, etc and most importantly the death of one of the faster growing small business entities in Atl. Do we really want that? Does it really make sense to shutdown a truck that has a 100 health rating permit from DeKalb, because they decide to do an event in Cobb. Especially when the requirements are the same! Or expect them to make a true living when allowed only two locations per county to vend? Most of all we hope all the red tape doesnt suffocate the spirit of entrepreneurship ignited by this movement. We are rooting for all the food truck owners! We think you are epic for following your passion and blazing a trail for those to come. Dont get discouraged and for heaven sake dont drive off to another city.....Atl needs you, even if everyone doesnt realize it yet!!! #redtapesucks #educatedontjustregulate #abetterdayiscoming
