WOW!!!!!! Im a DUMBASS. A firefighter should know better. It rained yesterday so I lit the burn pile to get rid of some limbs that were laying around. It did fine and burned down before nightfall. Today I put on a couple of cardboard boxes that were laying around. I stood and watched it burn for a few minutes. Then I turned my back on for no more than 2 minutes and the grass around it ignited. I managed to put it out fairly easily but not before it burned around 2000 sq.ft. The moral of the story is: Never turn you back on a fire even if you think it is safe.
