For starters, Martins walk made international headlines, as its not everyday a paraplegic woman takes the steps to unite herself with the love of her life. Martin broke her back in a car wreck in 1999, according to USA Today, and struggled for years in physical therapy. Doctors told her she would never walk again. So I put my faith in God and walked 69 feet in public for the first time, Martin tells DailyMail UK. It was a magical experience.
