WOW WOW WOW - What a Commissioner Meeting it was this morning. I dont know where to start. Despite Pegge Adams continued bickering towards Chairman Jamie Curtis, the Volunteers are going back to Animal Control Dog Pound to take care of our innocent animals !!!! Pegge had some help and support from old man John Northrup and Animal Director, Stepheni Lazar, but it wasnt enough. Although Adams was allowed to voice her opinion of what SHE thought should be voted on by the Board of Commissioners concerning HER committee program (head of Animal Control) and at times was almost picking a fight with Chairman Curtis, when it was all said and done, it was clear to me and the public that Jamie Curtis runs that show and he let her know it by voting in favor of Tony Browns motion to reinstate the Volunteer Program immediately and as it was originally agreed to. Adams tried like hell to convince Chairman Curtis that he didnt have the authority to do that but... oh well... cause he did !!!!!! Old man John Northrup wanted to limit volunteers to only 2 at a time. Besides this comment, he spent the entire meeting talking to himself. There were times he was even arguing with himself, smacking the table hard and his mouth was just a moving like crazy. He is definitely Senile. One other note on Northrup. During the break, I thought he was going to smack Burton Council Woman Ellen Ellenburg. He sure talked to her with disrespect. I dont think the guy is very stable at all. Lazar & Adams wanted to hand pick which volunteers could come back to GCAC. Todays motion isnt going to allow that crap either. Thats why the BOC voted and supported a Volunteer Coordinator, although it would be funny to see how either one of them could handle the scheduling because it is a thankless, full-time job trying to get enough volunteers to go into GCAC on any given day of the week, especially after Roger Gauthier and Paula A Hadden were banned from there. Both, Commissioners Clark and Henry were finally supporting the good guys for a change. I think maybe they were a little surprised at Pegges behavior today as well. There were around 75 animal supporters in attendance, not all were volunteers. One of my favorites today was Fenton Township Supervisor, Bonnie Mattis. She speaks from her heart and tells it like it really is. She has visited GCAC and said it was not a clean, nice place to go to. Ex Director Walt sat in the back of the auditorium. Fred Rappuhn attended as well as newly elected Mike Lynch. Archie Bailey made a motion to put to vote a Millage in Novembers General Election. None of us Volunteers asked for any money or tax dollars. He did this on his own. Oh, I drove over to Animal Control and met a few others there from the meeting. Plastered on the door is a typed note saying anyone wishing to go back into the Kennel must sign in, show proper ID and no Volunteers, cell phones or cameras allowed. If I was the BOC, I would remove that sign ASAP. We had cells and cameras before Pegge Adams took it on her own to disban the Volunteer Program and to deny me my tax paying rights to go back into where stray dogs and cats are kept is illegal... and I will not stand for such nonsense !!! Hopefully, the windowless, locked ward issue will be properly addressed without having to have meetings and motions and media. Thanks to ALL who missed work, found babysitters and drove many miles to attend this important meeting. Your efforts and sacrifices helped to obtain a much needed Victory today. Remember, we do this for the ANIMALS
