WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW ... unbelievable! (Yes, I know, I still cant get that Kate Bush gig out of my head!) At one point I looked around the room last night and realised there were Darklings in attendance from Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Preston, Harlech, London and even Holland (apologies if I missed out any other locations over 50 miles from Birmingham!) But its not just that they came to OAD, its the fact that they came to Birmingham to attend OAD, and to make a weekend of it at the same time (and to persuade ANYONE to spend a weekend in Birmingham you must be doing something right, lol!) ... and it was quite a humbling moment for me (as everyone says in unison Well that makes a change for David!) We also had Darklings that had been to a gig in London earlier in the evening, as well as Nick & Marcia who flew back from holiday just to attend OAD (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration there!) ... and what can I say about my two guest DJs? They were brilliant, Laura and Barrington both got the dance floor full straight away (and thats no mean feat for the the earlier slot, when people are still arriving and plucking up the courage to dance, lol! ... so well done to Laura!) My thanks also to Sam & Rebecca for running the desk on what was a busy night, and to Sara who continues to float like a butterfly but never sting like a bee (although Im sure shes been tempted to with me on more than one occasion!) Which leads me on nicely to say that we sold all 60 tickets (now theres a shock ... not, lol!) that were available last night to OAD Membership Card holders for THE party of the festive season, the OAD Christmas Party Please remember (for those still to get them) the other 40 will be up for grabs at OAD on the 15th Nov. And so finally to say a massive BIG thank you to all you wonderful Darklings who attended last night, and what a turn out we had! We almost reached capacity and the atmosphere was something really special, there was a real buzz in the room last night ... or was that from the one speaker that died on us half way through? lol! Anyway, lets do it all again on the 15th Nov ... and can I wish you all a great and (hopefully!) relaxing Sunday! :) x
