WOW! What a turnout today at the Cobden Avenue Charity Car Wash Takeover! Approx over 150 cars washed and plenty of happy customers! Alhumdulillah we raised a staggering amount, much more than we every thought we could from a small car wash. This year we done 3 different events, the FIFA KING Challenge, the football match between Shaid Hamids XI and FC Peterborough and finally the car wash today. All the events involved different people from different groups of friends, I can honestly say it is truly humbling that we as a community can get together for these in events in memory of Shaid Hamid and increase the love between us as brothers. These sayings from our Beloved Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) come to mind: You will not enter paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. (Sahih Muslim). You will not be a believer until you love for your brother what you love for yourself (Sahih Al-Bukhari). In terms of money raised this year through the events, as follows: Fifa King 2014: £1253.71 Football Match: £2504.65 Car Wash: £2550.00 GRAND TOTAL: £6308.36 These monies will be forwarded onto Human Appeal to aid the rebuilding of Gaza, helping orphans in Syria and also helping families rebuild homes in Pakistan after the floods. From that day in October 2010 when Shaid returned to his Lord, you guys have been with us in every way to support these events, it truly means a lot to the family and we sincerely appreciate the love. I also want to thank everyone thats helped in organising, volunteering and supporting these events, may Allah swt bless you guys abundantly :) I pray Allah swt accepts our efforts in raising charity for the less fortunate in memory of Shaid. May Allah swt raise Shaids rank in Jannah, bless his soul with His utmost mercy and make his Akhira easy for him.
