WOW!! What an amazing first meeting we had today. I am first amazed that everyone who signed up showed up. You know...there is something in that. First, thank you to Mike Wilson for suggesting this page to keep us all up to date on the next step and resources. Second, I am waiting to get friend requests accepted by a couple of people new to me today. Then they will be added to this group. I will also take a moment to post some website info that we discussed today. Here are a few questions I remember saying I would find out answers to for people. PLEASE comment below if you remember any others that I have not included. *Should we consider having two people with a foster child at all times to avoid accusation? *Should respite workers also need to go through a home study/licensing in case the respite is at the respite caregivers home? *And should that(above) even be an option? *Carls question/desire to be matched with a foster youth who has physical disability. Thank you all for your time, your passion, questions (this will make us better!) and your involvement to this stage. Know that I am praying for you as we look at the next step: follow-up. Here are some questions to consider: 1) Is there a role that really speaks to you? 2) Is mid-April through mid-June a timeframe that you can commit to? 3) Can you commit to longer if necessary when we get to the closing stage in mid-June? 4) If the first pilot isnt good timing, would you consider a year-long commitment in September?
