WOW, What day full of emotions. Today is never easy on me no matter how old I get because if Heads Crest Samson Audrey was still with me she would be 18 years old today! Many of my Kansas friends will remember this cow as the one who wasnt overly big but had a beautiful udder! She was my showmanship cow several years in a row and even though she threw me into the fence or whipped me from one side to the other we always managed to pull it all together and make the round robin. I also was fortunate enough to take both my 8th grade and senior pictures with her. So many memories with her that will never go away, miss you so much Audrey! But also today we have been patiently waiting for two of our cows to calve hoping and praying for heifers. Well, Kloe had a heifer and then Jana our really nice Supreme cow calved today as well unfortunately that heifer calf didnt make it. I know many are thinking its part of farm life you save some and you lose some and yes thats very true but when they are a part of your family and a part of what you enjoy during the fall months every year it makes it that much harder. Even though we had this little bump in the road we are still all excited for Tulsa State Fair next week and look forward to the many memories for New Beginnings Brown Swiss!!!!
