WOW!!! what an amazing day... Lobo the dog in the back seat of a vehicle which was stolen from Malanda was found today and reunited with his owners. Well YAPS had its own fantastic reunion today.. Jeremiah (who is actually Cooper) was re united with his owners today after being missing since before Xmas. In early May this boy was picked up by Council Animal Control, he did his time in the pound when YAPS put up their hand to take this boy on at the refuge. When he arrived at YAPS he was not in the best condition so was taken in for a vet check and vaccination. As soon as possible he was put into foster care and flourished with his wonderful foster family...lots of good food and heaps of TLC. Last week he returned to YAPS to be put up for adoption and his photo went up on our website. Karen aka KD who is a Great Dane owner saw the picture of Jeremiah/Cooper on the YAPS website and something clicked, she remembered seeing a story in the Cairns Post earlier this year about a missing Gt Dane. Karen sent a text to us last night relating what she had seen in the paper, Karen searched to find the article this morning which was back to January 10 2014, she located a name and phone number from the story, phone calls were made and the best news ever... this was their boy who had gotten out when a tradesman left a gate open just before Xmas. He was picked up in the same area he went missing from some 4 months later.... if only he could tell us his story. Tonight he is at home with his family being loved to death we are sure but after leaving YAPS this afternoon they stopped in to see Karen and say Thank You. Here is a picture of the boy when he first arrived at Yaps in early May and a picture of him taken last week when he came back to YAPS from foster care. Fairy tales do come true!!! and makes it all worth well for everyone who works in rescue.
